Athlete, Visual Artist, Nigerian-American, Ivy-League Grad
I’m a 2018 graduate of Brown University with a B.A in Business, Entrepreneurship, & Organizations. Throughout my undergraduate years, I’ve interned with United Therapeutics, the Detroit Pistons, & the Special Olympics of Rhode Island, each experience providing me with critical business development, marketing, & digital media skills.
I currently serve as a Content Programmer for Bleacher Report where I work closely with our social media team to create basketball content for the NBA and Turner Sports. Previously, I served as the Coordinator of Athletic Multimedia Services at Brown. My duties in this role range from content creation to managing student & contract staff to directing & producing live broadcasts for ESPN+. In two short years, I helped produce over 400 ESPN+ broadcasts and 50+ athlete features, coach interviews, season preview, & highlight videos for the Brown Athletics brand. Occasionally, I get to document a team’s travel abroad, as I did with the Women’s Soccer team as they traveled to France for 9 days and attended the 2019 Women’s World Cup.
It’s impossible to tell my story without mentioning the impact that sports have had on my life. I have a long-held belief that sports has the innate ability to spur community and social growth. I hold athletes like Usain Bolt, Didier Drogba, & John Wall in high regard because of their ability to captivate fans across the globe while also serving as pillars in their communities (and countries) due to their genuine philanthropic efforts.
As a child, sports were not only a way for me to expend energy, but it allowed me to travel the country and meet a wide range of individuals, many of which I still call friends and family to this day. I’ve been an athlete since I put on ice skates at the Gardens Ice House when I was four. In the years since, I have played Soccer, Football, Basketball, Lacrosse, and run Track. In high school, I was an 8x state champion on the track. I continued running Track at Brown University where I was an Ivy-League Champion, All-American, & Team Captain.
I turn to photography & videography to bring out the creative side in me that took a backseat during my life as a student-athlete. I thoroughly enjoy the creative process that begins with the research & understanding of cameras to post-production. I must admit that I’m a self-taught, self-motivated, novice visual artist. Still, my goal is to grow in the practice and create heartwarming, eye-catching, & inspiring pieces that can be enjoyed by anyone.
